THE MINISTRY OF DEFENCE – CASE STUDY

With personnel in projects and conflict zones across the world including Ukraine, Afghanistan and Iraq, the MOD required a linguistic services provider to deliver fast, high quality language support.

THE CHALLENGE

The UK Ministry of Defence needed a provider to deliver fast, high quality language support in a variety of training environments. They required adaptable, well trained and experienced linguists to work in sometimes very challenging, hostile environments that could also lend support to bridge cultural divides in order to enable UK military personnel to communicate effectively and hit the ground running. They also needed a partner who understands Central Government contracting processes and can be trusted and provide 100% fulfilment in a cost-effective manner.

THE SOLUTION

With our vast pool of contacts, thebigword was able to provide appropriately trained personnel to the MOD ready for deployment across the globe. We maintain language testing processes to MOD and NATO standards. And our team of dedicated ex-military staffers we were able to integrate new linguists into the MOD process quickly and provide in depth training prior to deployment including on CONDO, HEAT as well as situational and cultural awareness training.

CASE STUDY HIGHLIGHTS

•Providing 25 local linguists to Ukraine with 72 hours notice.

•Providing local female Afghans to train female cadets in Kabul.

•100% fulfilment for over three years with no gaps in postings.
