thebigword says ‘buongiorno!’ to Italy

Leeds-based, technology-driven language solutions company, thebigword, has opened an office in Modena, Italy as part of its ambitious global growth plans.

The new office will be led by Rocco Filomeno who has been appointed as sales director for Southern Europe, covering Italy, France and Spain. With over 20 years’ experience in the language services industry, Rocco’s role will focus on business growth and client service in these regions.

thebigword is a leading technology-driven language solutions company which delivers translation and interpreting solutions across the globe through purpose built technology systems. The launch of its new Italian office is part of thebigword’s global offering expansion plans, taking it closer towards its bid to be one of the top five language service providers in the world.

Larry Gould, CEO of thebigword, said: “Last year was a record year for us and this year we expect our turnover increase by 9.6 per cent, to £48m. Our growth has been driven by significant advancements in our software products and we want to share this technology with businesses in Italy and Southern Europe to help them effectively communicate with their global customers.

“Opening a new European office in Italy is part of our bigger overall global growth plan. Rocco has worked in the language service industry since 1994, his knowledge of the regions and experience in the industry made him the perfect candidate for the role and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”
