Technology-enabled language services provider focuses on place in top five.
thebigword, the global technology-enabled language service provider, has announced that Michael Ridgway has become Global Sales Director and SVP Global Sales. Michael takes up his new position from his previous role as EVP Sales, US.
Michael, who is based at thebigword’s New York office, joined the company in April 2008. Since then, he has played a major part in its growth to create a leading global language services business, employing more than 500 people worldwide working with 10,000 linguists.
His work heading up the US sales operation has helped take thebigword Inc. from a small operation when it was set up in 2007 to a major player in the US language services market, providing interpreting and translation to some of the country’s biggest organizations. The focus throughout has been on structure, training and effective management to support his sales teams and drive results.
In his new role as Global Sales Director and SVP Global Sales, Michael Ridgway will head up a worldwide sales team that includes operations in the US, UK, China, Japan, the Middle East and across Europe as well as covering specific vertical markets. His aim is to propel the USD70 million company to the next stage of its growth, with his sights firmly on the world top five.
