Global language service provider, thebigword Group, is expanding its global footprint with the opening of a new operations center in Pune, India.
The establishment of a larger presence in India is part of thebigword Group’s growth strategy, enhancing its flexibility to service new and existing business. The Pune operations center will enable a smooth delivery of the company’s specialized translation and interpretation services.
With a population of 1.34 billion, speaking 22 different languages, India is the 6th fastest growing economy in the world, making it an attractive location for expansion.
Pune, located in Maharashtra State in Western India, has over one hundred educational institutes and more than nine universities including The Savitribai Phule Pune University, which is the second largest University in the country, based on total number of affiliated colleges. thebigword intends to leverage the local, well-educated and a highly skilled linguist community to deliver the company’s high quality language services.
Pune is also a base for many of the world’s largest automotive companies such as Volkswagen, Land Rover, and Mercedes Benz. As a specialist language service provider in the automotive sector, thebigword has translated over 13 million words into 46 languages in the last three years alone in this sector.
